What’s Your NOTC Tea? Let Your NOLA Neighborhood Decide

At New Orleans Tea Company, we believe tea is an experience. And in a city as vibrant, storied, and soulful as New Orleans, that experience is steeped in place. Each neighborhood hums with its own rhythm, flavor, and charm. So we asked ourselves: what would these neighborhoods taste like in a cup?

From the sultry magic of the French Quarter to the tree-lined quiet of Uptown, we’ve brewed up a collection of teas inspired by the character of each place. Whether you’re a born and raised New Orleanian, or just passing through, there’s a tea that speaks your language.

Here’s your neighborhood guide to sipping the city—New Orleans style.

French Quarter – Bourbon Street Vanilla

There’s nothing quite like the French Quarter. With its wrought iron balconies, flickering gas lamps, and the occasional whiff of incense from a nearby altar, it’s a place that lives in layers: historic, haunted, and wholly alive.

Bourbon Street Vanilla captures that mystery in a cup. This rooibos blend is warm and inviting, with notes of toasty vanilla, almond, and calendula petals. Caffeine-free and deeply aromatic, it evokes the feeling of wandering through the Quarter just as the streetlamps flicker on, where magic always feels just one breath away.

Garden District – Commander’s Palace Blood Orange Sazerac

Elegance drips from the oaks in the Garden District, where grand old mansions sit behind lacy fences and brunch is a cherished ritual. Blood Orange Sazerac is inspired by one of its crown jewels—Commander’s Palace—and carries the same sophistication and energy.

A black tea blend with orange pieces, blackberry leaves, and safflower petals, it’s bright, citrusy, and just bold enough to make an impression. Sip it on a slow morning as the streetcar glides past or during an afternoon garden party. Either way, this tea turns any moment into an occasion.

Bywater – Bayou Blues Bancha

Bywater has a heartbeat all its own. It's where creativity meets community, and murals bloom on every block. There’s a sense of freedom here—of color outside the lines, of long conversations on front stoops, of jazz drifting from open windows.

Bayou Blues Bancha is a smooth green tea that feels right at home in this neighborhood. Subtle and soulful, it invites you to slow down and take it all in.

Like Bywater itself, it’s both grounded and a little unexpected—perfect for sipping as you watch the light change over the Mississippi.

Mid-City – Big Easy Apple

In Mid-City, everything is a little easier, a little breezier. This is the neighborhood of paddleboats and po’ boys, y’all. Where Bayou St. John winds lazily past historic homes and neighbors wave from porches.

Big Easy Apple captures that laid-back charm with a crisp, fruity tea that’s as refreshing as a shady spot at City Park. It’s unfussy, friendly, and quietly delightful—just like the neighborhood it honors.

Whether you’re biking the Lafitte Greenway or kicking back after lunch at Parkway, this blend keeps things cool and easy.

Tremé – Jazz-min

Tremé is the soul of the city. It’s where tradition is born, where the music is loud and the roots run deep.

Jazz-min green tea is a tribute to that spirit—smooth and expressive, with floral notes that sing like a trumpet solo on Rampart Street. It’s graceful yet powerful, shaped by history and layered with feeling.

It’s the kind of tea you sip slowly, listening for echoes of second lines, ancestral rhythms, and stories passed down through generations.

Algiers Point – Front Porch English Breakfast

Tucked across the river, Algiers Point feels like stepping back in time—in the best way. It’s a place of ferry rides and quiet mornings, where every house seems to have a porch made for lingering.

Front Porch English Breakfast is a tribute to that timeless charm. A full-bodied black tea that’s never too bold, it’s smooth, coppery, and especially comforting with a splash of milk. Whether you're watching the ships pass or curled up with a book, this tea is your perfect porch companion.

Lakeview – Bubblegum Snowball

Lakeview knows how to do sunshine. With wide streets, backyard barbecues, and kids running wild through summer heat, it’s a neighborhood built for nostalgia.

Bubblegum Snowball is a nod to those carefree afternoons—sweet, playful, and a little bit outrageous. This tea is bursting with flavor and fun, a caffeine-free blend that feels like running barefoot to the nearest snowball stand. It’s made for ice, laughter, and a big straw.

Marigny – Dancing on Frenchmen Street

Marigny pulses with music, mischief, and that special kind of magic you only find on Frenchmen Street.

Dancing on Frenchmen Street captures the neighborhood’s wild and wonderful energy with a rich herbal blend of hibiscus, elderberries, and black currants.

The deep burgundy infusion is bold, fruity, and alive with flavor—just like a night filled with jazz, conversation, and unexpected encounters. It’s the tea you brew when you want to feel something. Preferably with a vinyl record playing in the background.

Uptown – Audubon Apricot

Uptown is elegance with a side of whimsy. It’s shaded sidewalks and storybook homes, Audubon Park picnics, and long walks under moss-draped trees.

Audubon Apricot brings that gentle beauty to life with a black tea blend infused with apricot, papaya, lime leaves, and blossoms. Naturally sweet and bright, it’s one of our favorite teas to serve iced on a sunny afternoon.

Sip it slowly and let yourself be transported to a bench near the lagoon, where the birds sing and time slows to a hush.

CBD – Poydras Street Peppermint

The Central Business District is all hustle and steel, but there’s rhythm under the surface—deals being made, ideas taking shape, lives moving fast.

Poydras Street Peppermint is for those moments when you need a breath of fresh air in the middle of the rush. Bracing and pure, this peppermint tea is harvested in the cool air of the Pacific Northwest and packs a powerful menthol kick.

Hot or iced, it clears your mind and resets your day. It’s the ultimate palate cleanser, the mid-afternoon pick-me-up you didn’t know you needed.

So… What’s Your Tea Match?

Are you drawn to the quiet elegance of Uptown or the bold groove of the Marigny? Maybe you're a classic Quarter soul or a laid-back Mid-City breeze. Wherever you find yourself, there's a tea that fits the rhythm of your neighborhood—and your heart.
